Remembering his Life, Death and the Legacy he leaves us.

On Monday April 3rd, 2017, our beloved father, David Roland Andersson, was peacefully released from his earthly body and went home to be with the Lord. He was surrounded by his loving wife of 61 years, Isabel, their children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. He will be dearly missed by all who were fortunate enough to have known him.

He was born on August 9, 1930 in Orebro Sweden, to missionary parents, Axel and Ester Anderson who had been called to serve in Mexico 10 years earlier. He spent the majority of his youth in Mexico where he met his future wife Isabel at the tender age of 9. After many years as childhood friends, they fell in love and married, eventually moving their family to Chicago, IL in 1961.

He worked at Swedish Covenant Hospital in the Maintenance Engineering Department from 1962 - 2007. He had a keen mind for solving problems; truly a "Jack of all trades" as well as a master of all. He was greatly influenced by his experiences as the child of missionaries and his love for Jesus was an inspiration to all who knew him. As such, he followed in the tradition of his parents, faithfully serving the Lord throughout his life and imparting a love of service to his children. He served as a church elder, deacon, and Bible teacher for many years and yet he always had time to listen and give words of wisdom and encouragement to anyone who needed it.

Dad, you were an amazing husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. You left behind a legacy of love and devotion, your gentle smile and tender words of encouragement will be sorely missed.

Please join us for his memorial service which will be held at The Benson Family Funeral Home, 3224 W Montrose Ave, Chicago, IL 60618 on Sat April 8, 2017, from 3:00pm - 6:00pm. Reverend Larry Butterfield will be officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to "National MS Society" appreciated.
